Turning Miro's live product activity into an evolving artwork.
A living portrait of collaboration.
For Miro's new Amsterdam headquarters, we created a data-driven artwork that transforms activity happening across Miro into an evolving visual composition.
Inspired by Joan Miró's abstract language and the organic forms of Miro100's architecture, the installation turns the invisible activity of collaboration into something physical, visible and alive.
The idea
What if you could see collaboration happening?
Zoom out on a busy Miro board and individual contributions start to form a bigger picture.
Each form in the artwork represents activity happening in Miro. As people collaborate and generate new ideas, the composition grows and changes with them. No two days are exactly the same.
From data → art
Data became the material.
Rather than visualising product data as charts and numbers, we used it as a creative input.
Activity across Miro changes the artwork, turning collaboration into shapes, colour and movement.

The visual language
From Miró to Miro.
The visual language began with Joan Miró's abstract compositions: lines, shapes and forms that look spontaneous but still work together.
We translated that idea into three dimensions, combining Miró-inspired forms with the tactile materials, organic textures and 3D-printed elements already present throughout Miro100.
A system, not a single artwork
Designed to keep changing.
Living Canvas wasn't created as a looping piece of motion design. It was conceived as a visual system.
New activity changes the composition. Forms appear, accumulate and interact, allowing the artwork to evolve with the rhythm of Miro's community.
Ideas are alive. They multiply, collide and build on one another.

My role
I worked across concept development, creative direction and visual design, helping translate product data into a visual system that could live at architectural scale.
I worked closely with the creative and technical teams to get the idea out of the deck and onto the wall.
